As part of the tribute to Theodoros Angelopoulos, the 53rd Thessaloniki Film Festival and the Thessaloniki State Orchestra co-organize a concert by Eleni Karaindrou on Friday, November 9, 2012, at 21:00, at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, featuring music and songs from the films of the famous Greek director.

The TSO, under the direction of Alexandros Myrat, will take the audience on a journey through the beloved melodies that Eleni Karaindrou composed for Theodoros Angelopoulos during their 28 years of steady and creative collaboration. With Dimitra Galani performing the songs from the films and the participation of the jazz trio "Human Touch" consisting of David Lynch (saxophone), Stavros Lantsias (piano), and Giotis Kiourtsoglou (bass), the concert program includes a special selection of musical themes from the last eight films of Theodoros Angelopoulos: Voyage to Cythera (1984), The Beekeeper (1986), Landscape in the Mist (1988), The Suspended Step of the Stork (1991), The Weeping Meadow (2004), The Dust of Time (2008).

Alongside Eleni Karaindrou, who will play the piano, the TSO will collaborate with Karaindrou's soloist partners, Vangelis Christopoulos (oboe), Natalia Michailidou (piano), Dinos Hadziiordanou (accordion), Aristotelis Dimitriadis (mandolin).
